Iowa Assessments for grades 5-8 will be continue through February 10. We’ve completed the reading, math, and social studies tests. Next week students will finish up the assessments with science (and any make up tests that need to be completed). Here is a slideshow of test-taking tips and strategies to help prepare for the tests.
Student Led Conferences In the spring, DMS holds student-led conferences (as opposed to the traditional parent-teacher conferences). This format is a wonderful opportunity for students to reflect on and take responsibility for their own learning. By now you should have received a letter (on pink paper) that confirms your scheduled conference time (if you have not received this yet, please let us know). If you have questions, contact your child’s homeroom teacher.
Important Information regarding student behavior at sporting events can be found here. Please make sure your son/daughter know and understand these guidelines.

Study Buddies: All DMS students are invited to Room 220 (Mrs. Suhr’s room) after school Monday - Thursday until 4:00 to have a quiet place to do work. Staying for Study Buddies is voluntary; students come when they have homework to do and only stay until their work is done! Be sure to communicate with your child about where to go or meet you when they are done each day.
