NEWS FLASH!!
From Mrs. Halweg:
Math- Our math study this week has focused on multiplying whole numbers and decimals. We learned how to do this using models (hundredths grids) as well as by using traditional multiplication. We’ll continue to practice this next week and will also multiply two numbers with decimals together.
From Mr. Kelley:

From Mrs. Nowack:
Science: Students did a great job on the final assessment of the Living Systems/Ecosystems Unit! Students should continue to make daily moon observations for several more weeks.
Reading: We have been learning about the features of the informational text genre. We also continue to practice identifying main idea and supporting details in our guided reading groups.
Language: Students have finished typing their memoirs and have begun revising them; so far we have revised verb tense and adding reflection. See above for information above regarding two exciting writing contest opportunities!
Next week’s VIP: Connor

Science: Next up in Science? We’ll learn more about patterns of the sun, moon, seasons, and weather.
Reading and Writing: We have been reading past stories and brainstorming story ideas for the Old Creamery Theater contest. We’ve been reflecting on our reading life so far this year, gathering data about what kinds of books we prefer and setting some goals for the next quarter.
From Mrs. Suhr:
Social Studies - We began our unit on explorers to North America. This is such a fun unit. We pretended to “dive” to retrieve artifacts from a sunken ship. We used these artifacts to learn about the people that explored the “New World”. We’re learning how and why these people traveled to our continent.
Language - Students are typing drafts of their memoirs. Spelling lists are always handed out on Friday for the next week. Spelling tests are always on the last day of the week. We are practicing grammar and writing skills through DLR and Daily Writing.
Star of the Week: Next week’s star is Collin H.
