After the testing is completed, the packets will be sent home again- for students to collect the money they helped earn for their school. All pledge money should be collected and returned to school no later than April 16th.

NEWS FLASH!!
From Mrs. Halweg:
Math- In math this week we began our study of volume. Our focus is on finding the volume of rectangular prisms and understanding what volume is. Your student will be tested over these concepts next Friday, March 31.
From Mr. Kelley:
Reading and Language: Students have been working in small groups to write a poem, informational paragraph, and illustration about an organism that they researched. The small groups each chose a specific theme for their collections such as “spiky creatures”. The students presented their poems in class on Thursday. Be sure to ask your child to see the work they have done with this project.
Social Studies: Students are learning about the Bill of Rights.
From Mrs. Nowack:
Science: We wrapped up the force & motion part of our unit and will move onto applying that knowledge in an engineering unit beginning next week.
Reading: Continuing with folktales, we have spent the week in small reader’s theatre groups. Students should continue to read at least 20 minutes each night.
Language: The students did a great job of telling stories this week; it sure was fun listening to them! We continue to improve our grammar and spelling skills through daily writing, DLR’s, and word work.
From Mr. Peterson:
Science:We’ve been continuing our work with the particle nature of matter and physical properties of matter.
Reading and Writing: We are reading fiction stories to help us explore the BIG question: Who is blind and who can see? We’ve finished our fiction book trailer reflection. You can watch book trailers on Kidblog now.
From Mrs. Suhr:
Social Studies - We are currently reading an online text called the U.S. Constitution. We’ll be finished with that book and the questions by Wed., March 29. We’ll test on the 30th over the U.S. Constitution. Next, we’ll be learning about the Bill of Rights.
Language - This week , we have finished up the storytelling unit. We will be doing a bit of review before our MAPs tests next week. We are currently studying words from the Spell-a-thon list. Spelling lists are always handed out on Friday for the next week. Spelling tests are always on the last day of the week. We are practicing grammar and writing skills through DLR and Daily Writing.
